Trying These Old Hands at Bookbinding.


So, this is my second attempt at making my own sketchbook. This is a quarter-bound book, which means that the fabric is only on the spine. It's way, way harder then it looks.


And I did the simplest binding to start with.


I'm definitely going to work my way up to some really big nice books, but for now I'll start out small. I really have an appreciation for a good sketchbook now. Not only is it a lot of work it's also pretty expensive, especially if you like nice paper.


That little book of words was my first, pitiful attempt at a book. I had a bunch of binding problems. Each signature has a big gap between them when you open it.



I think they are in love.



So good.
